NLFC Launches new Website

space
space

The North Launceston Football Club is pleased to announce the launch of our new look website. We have been busy improving our site over the past months to bring you the benefits of up to date information on players, results, sponsor information, your Committee of Mangement, functions, photos, and video highlights of home games.

The Newsletter icon on the home page enables you to enter your name and email address to ensure that you are first to receive our newsletters.  The database will also be used to inform you of all our upcoming events and functions, so make sure you log in to register for these.

The site is 90% complete with some areas (online membership payment) still under development. Once complete, this will enable all both old and new members to join up and pay online.

The Club is keen to ensure that that the site has all the information you are seeking. Accordingly, if you have something you would like to see featured on the site, please contact our Communications and Membership Officer, Mrs Rhonda O'Sign - rosign@bigpond.com

The notice board is a new feature, and we welcome any news from members that they would like to share. It may be a special announcement, a function or just a news worthy item which you may wish to share. We would be happy to receive your input in this area.

We hope you enjoy the added benefits of the new site.

At the time of writing I am currently absorbed in organising a half year review and leading programs to establish a total club operational plan for at least the next two years. Our 2011 club plan received approval from AFL-Tas with nearly all listed projects completed.

Milestones

space

The Club congratulates two of its long term senior players on reaching milestones over the past two weeks.

  • Adam Viney played his 100th game against Burnie. Unfortunately we lost, but well done to Adam on this great achievement.
  • Tye Stewart played his 150th game against South Launceston on the 21st May, and celebrated with a great win. Ty has struggled with injury over the past month, so it was with great relief when he ran onto the ground to celebrate this milestone.

Development Program

Scott Hawkins
Football Operations Manager

  • We are now very active in development in our schools. I have attended six schools to date and have 13 schools booked in for the Football in Schools programme and Auskick.
  • Our Auskick centres are also fully operational and numbers have been excellent; the co-ordinators do a excellent job in running these centres and I thank them.
  • The development series has been run and was very successful, with our U14 playing well against two strong teams and the way the boys handled themselves was a credit to themselves ,both on and off the ground.
  • The U15 carried on from last year’s U14 series where they won both of their games and like the U14 the conduct they showed on the day was excellent.
  • I would like to thank the coaches, Jason Curtis U14 and U15 Cabel Hall, Tony Young jnr and senior player Paul O’Shea for a excellent effort over the eight weeks. I would also like to thank the parents for their help and for the travel they all did over this period.
  • The U14 will have 11 players go through to next stage and the U15 will have 14, this is a excellent effort and we wish these boys all the best in the game on 9th June at Aurora. I would like to invite anyone interested in watching the two games to please attend. The boys will be split up amongst the other TSL Clubs in the North and will play a U14 game starting at 11am and the U15’s at 12-45 pm.
  • I will be starting our football Academy after the above game and I am looking forward to this and with most the boys from our development teams involved, it will be very exciting for all. The letters have been sent to those involved and our first training run is June 22 at 4-30pm at Invermay park.

What’s the value of $30?

This is the price of a full club membership. Amongst other things it affords you the privilege of utilising the Level 1 Aurora Function Centre (our clubrooms).

The viewing area for watching the game is excellent – it’s always warm with all amenities modern, clean and operational.

So to avoid possible embarrassment I put on notice the few NON Members who like watching the game from the club rooms at every home game who bring in their own drinks, use the facilities as a member would, but can not or will not contribute $30 for the privilege - YOUR TIME IS UP – join up as a member ASAP or don’t be shocked when you are requested to leave.

Colts Update

space
space

Colts have experienced an up and down start to the season with some bid wins and big loses, on the other hand we have had a 5 players from last years Under 18 team play senior football which is a big focus for us moving forward, this has created a rather tough experience though for the other player with the boys not yet having a settled side. I would personally like to send my thanks to the Junior Club and Colin Lockhart in proving us with a number of under 16 boys to help make the numbers when required they have been a great asset to our side and the club should be very proud.

The boys have shown me a willingness to learn and improve in the first 7 rounds however moving forward they will have to continue to show this desire to achieve the result we are all aiming for!
Some great additions to our side this year include

• Adam Zanevra (Georgetown)
• Nathan Pearce (St Helens)
• Ringo Mojak (U16)
• Kiri Kiri (Launceston)
• Brady Fredrickson (St Helens)
• Ben Elmer (Launceston)
• Nathan Barry (U16)
• Cody Kerrison (Scottsdale)
• James Lee (OL’S)
